Spiritual, Moral, Social and Cultural Education at St Edburg's
St Edburg's approach to SMSC (Spiritual, Moral, Social and Cultural) development is woven through the curriculum and everyday school life. We are clear that SMSC development is central to how pupils learn to think, behave and contribute positively to society, Through our carefully planned curriculum, underpinned by our drivers include, inspire and interact, our pupils are supported to develop self-awareness, resilience, respect and a clear sense of courageous advocacy.
Our curriculum actively includes the promotion of British values (see here), inspires thoughtful discussion of different beliefs and cultures, and provides opportunities for pupils to interact, enabling them to show leadership and engage with the wider community.
