School Lunches
We encourage our pupils to live healthily and we are a ‘Healthy School'
Our Kitchen is 5 Star!
Our kitchen undertook its Food Hygiene Assessment in May 2024 and received the top rating of 5 – Very Good. This is the highest rating of the scheme and is a testament to how hard our kitchen team work to ensure all areas of the kitchen are maintained to the highest standard.
Well done to Becky, Amy, Aga and Jayne – we are really proud of you all.
School Cooked Lunches
Our kitchen, managed by Oxfordshire County Council Catering, provides a fresh, healthy, varied and tasty lunch menu, encouraging all our pupils to take and enjoy the important mid-day meal – eating well and stimulating an interest in food and nutrition.
We:
- cook all meals on site in our school kitchen
- have 3 choices of balanced meals on offer every day
- use fresh food from local suppliers with deliveries daily
- use natural sugars where possible
- ensure meals contain fibre, protein, starchy carbohydrates, vitamins, iron and other essential minerals to keep our children fuelled.
- Provide a choice of vegetables, salad and fresh fruit every day
We do not:
- Use deep fat fryers
- Use genetically modified ingredients
We encourage all our children to have school lunches and to try new meals. You don’t have to have school lunches every day – you can have them on some days and a packed lunch on others – you choose. School Meals cost £2.50 per pupil per day.
Children in Reception, Year 1 and Year 2 receive school lunches for free under the Universal Free School Meals intiative as well as being provided with fruit at break times.
Children who qualify for Pupil Premium also receive free school meals.
If you are receiving benefits then your child may qualify for Free School Meals as part of your child's Pupil Premium entitlement. Information about how to claim this is available from the school office or download the information from the links below:
